COVID-19 Safety Measures


The safety, health, and well-being of our community are always our top priority. We’ve made changes to how we operate—all designed to keep our community safe. Please know that we will all need to be flexible and open to change as needed. We want to express our appreciation to everyone doing their part to slow the spread of COVID-19 to keep our community healthy and well.


MASK UPDATE: FEBRUARY 2022:

Continuing to follow data and science to respond to COVID-19, effective Feb. 26, the City of Tempe will make face coverings optional for patrons and city employees at applicable indoor city-run facilities.

Masks also will be optional at special events hosted in city parks beginning Feb. 26.


Indoor Classes, Programs and Activities:

• Stay home if you are sick.

• Temperature checks are required at the start time of each scheduled activity.

Individuals with temperature readings of 100.4 degrees or greater will not be

permitted to attend the class.

• A minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing away from others must be maintained.

• Face coverings are required for all instructional classes, including health and

fitness classes.

• Wash hands often, especially after leaving with soap and water for 20 seconds. If

soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that

contains at least 60% alcohol.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

• Cover cough or sneeze with tissue or your sleeve and immediately throw the

tissue in the trash.

• If you are at higher risk for severe illness, you should avoid visiting public facilities.

• Bring your own water bottles and water.

Outdoor Classes, Programs and Activities:

• Stay home if you are sick.

• Temperature checks are required at the start time of each scheduled activity.

Individuals with temperature readings of 100.4 degrees or greater will not be

permitted to attend the class.

• A minimum of 6 feet of physical distancing away from others must be maintained.

• Face coverings must be worn when physical distancing of at least 6 feet is not

maintained.

• After leaving the activity, use hand sanitizer. When you get home, wash your

hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

• Cover cough or sneeze with tissue or your sleeve and immediately throw the

tissue in the trash.

• If you are at higher risk for severe illness, you should avoid

attending/participating in activities.

• Bring your own water bottles and water.
